About TALU

TALU started simply: as two people planning trips together and documenting what we found. We realised we weren't interested in ticking popular landmarks off a bucket list. Instead, we wanted to understand the actual character of a place, the neighbourhood spots, the local kitchens, and the small details of daily life that make a destination memorable.

Today, TALU is a resource for intentional travelers. We share the places that we love going, the meals we still talk about, and the practical insights we learned through out the process. Our goal is to give you the clarity and honest inspiration you need to truly experience a place, rather than just pass through it.

Justine - Editorial & Logistics

Born in South Africa, I’ve always had a drive to see what lies beyond familiar borders. With a master’s degree rooted in research, I run the editorial direction and logistics behind TALU. From mapping out deliberate itineraries to managing our digital spaces, my focus is on uncovering the real, unvarnished details that give a destination its substance.

Tim - Visual Lead

Raised in South Africa, I’ve been looking at the world through a camera viewfinder since I was eight years old. As the visual lead for TALU, I use photography and film to capture the true texture, light, and atmosphere of the places we visit, focusing on the quiet, understated moments that define a landscape or a culture.
